This page lists jekyll plugins that are helpful for scholarly markdown
Existing Plugins
-
Use Pandoc as the Markdown parser dsanson/jekyll-pandoc-plugin
-
MathJax (not really a plugin, just add the javascript to the header). Alternatively, convert equations to images with cboettig/codecogs.rb (e.g., so they show up in rss feeds)
-
display the modification date (cboettig/git_modified),
- Github history cboettig/github_history.rb, or
- SHA hash cboettig/git_sha.rb of a post (since timestamping and versioning is important for scholarly work)
(These Git related plugins could use work to make them more general, and are perhaps not strictly #schmd issues...)
Wish List
-
Parse all links and generate a reference list. (e.g. via GreyCite and CrossRef APIs). Optionally using CSL formatting specified in user's
_config.yaml
for both the references and for rewriting inline references. -
Generate javascript popovers with twitter bootstrap providing the citation information given the link.
